Precita is the site of an extinct creek, or at least it is in pipes underground, called Precita of course and followed by Serpentine Avenue, predecessor of Army Street, now named Cesar Chavez.  It is the low spot where Bernal Heights meets the relatively flat Mission District.  The presence of a long, narrow park enhances the neighborhood:
